LETHBRIDGE – The Galt Museum & Archives is set to welcome the “Changing Places: Immigration & Diversity” exhibit this weekend.
A year in the making, the exhibit seeks to provide viewers a look at the challenges newcomers in this city have overcome, as well as Lethbridge’s diverse communities. It features vignettes of newcomers, as well as three interactive modules and a reading corner where people can find resources used to teach English to immigrants coming to Lethbridge.
“What I hope people will take away from here is this understanding that people come here from very different backgrounds and very different cultures,” said Curator Wendy Aitkens. “But, they are individuals that will help Lethbridge grow and change and get better.”
The exhibit opens to the public on Saturday, with an official opening and introduction Sunday at 2 p.m. The exhibit runs until Jan. 17.
