The girl’s mother testified that her daughter came forward and told her Ali put his hand between her legs twice. She said it happened once in Ali’s home, where he and his wife would often babysit her.

She said eventually the girl did not want to visit Ali’s home and both her and her daughter were advised to keep their eyes open and “watch for signs” after meeting with a councillor.
