The sole riding for the northern half of Saskatchewan is often close on election night. That was the case again on Monday after the NDP’s Georgina Jolibois won the riding in one of the closest races in Saskatchewan.
Jolibois beat out Liberal candidate Lawrence Joseph by 70 votes, with CPC incumbent MP Rob Clarke placing third.

It is the third riding won by the NDP in Saskatchewan in the 2015 election after last winning a federal seat in 2000.
North Saskatchewan has only had one riding since 1988 – but in eight general elections since, the area has elected an NDP candidate twice, a Liberal candidate three times, and a Conservative three times—including the last two with Clarke.
