NDP candidate Norah Bowman placed a distant third with 9,044 votes.

More than 89,000 people were eligible to vote in the riding.

In the 2011 federal election, Cannan’s closest challenger was Patricia Kalmanovitch of the NDP. He beat her by more than 21,000 votes while the Liberals placed third with a little more than 7,000 votes with candidate Kris Stewart.

Ever since Kelowna became the centre of its own riding prior to the 1988 election, the district has elected conservative candidates.
