PENTICTON–The community of Penticton is rallying together to “Take Back the Night”.

The idea of the night time street march is to raise awareness about violence in all forms, and press for the right to feel safe while conducting our daily lives.

“As a community we refuse to be silent about any forms of violence, including domestic violence,” says Amberlee Erdmann, with the South Okanagan Victim Assistance Society.

TBTN is an international social awareness event that speaks out against violence.

Participants are encouraged to create their own signs to carry as they walk the streets, shouting chants of empowerment.
