“Diana’ Friesen marked her five years at the Global National anchor desk on Monday. Actually, Dawna Friesen did, not “Diana”.
But in congratulating Dawna on the anniversary, on Twitter, a well-meaning Tom Mulcair made a slight typo or was just the latest unfortunate victim of autocorrect gone awry.
Never missing a beat, Twitter users acted swiftly to set him straight.
The NDP leader deleted the original tweet and sent out another one to share his congrats with “Dawna.”
Friesen, taking time out between Global National broadcasts, of course sent her thanks back to Mulcair — “Tim” Mulcair that is.
As Dawna responded, “What’s in a name, right?”
But, we hope the real Diana Friesens and Tim Mulcairs will join us in congratulating Dawna on her five years with Global National. Here’s to many more.
