Second-degree murder charges laid in death of teenager

REGINA – A 21-year-old man was arrested and charged Friday in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Darian Moise.

On Sunday Sep. 13, police found Moise’s body in front of a vacant home on Robinson Street near 6th Avenue.

Investigators determined his death was a homicide, the city’s seventh of the year.

Friday afternoon Moise’s family and community members gathered in North Central, calling for an end to violence in the neighbourhood.

Lawrence Alvin “Junior” Strongquill is now charged with second-degree murder.

Strongquill will appear in Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning.
