PENTICTON — The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. (IIO B.C.) is looking into a fatal accident in Penticton that has claimed the life of a four-year-old boy.
RCMP say it happened around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Fairview Road and Highway 97. An off-duty police officer driving his personal vehicle collided with a pedestrian.
Sgt. Annie Linteau with the B.C. RCMP says a four-year-old boy was taken to hospital and has since succumbed to his injuries.
The IIO B.C. asks anyone with information or who may have witnessed the accident to contact the IIO toll-free witness line at 1-855-446-8477.
