Man charged with murder of common-law wife to appear in court

CALGARY – A man accused of killing his common-law wife nearly ten years ago is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

RCMP charged Duane Redelback with the second-degree murder of 40-year-old Ruth Degayo on Friday.

Degayo’s burned remains were found in an abandoned building in Exshaw in 2006 after Redelback reported her missing.

RCMP haven’t revealed what led them to charge Redelback with murder.

He is also charged with indignity to a human body.
