TORONTO – The world is mourning for Alan Kurdi, the three-year-old Syrian boy whose lifeless body was photographed face down on the shore of a Turkish beach Wednesday.
Alan, his five-year-old brother Ghalib Kurdi and their mother, Rehan, died as they tried to reach Europe from Syria.
The image, taken by a Turkish photographer, was splashed on newspaper front pages across the world Thursday morning.
On social media, using hashtags #KiyiyaVuranInsanlik and #HumanityWashedAshore, artists shared editorial cartoons mourning the dead toddler.
