Summary: This riding has changed hands between the Conservatives and the Liberals for decades. With the incumbent not re-offering, 2015 will see a renewed battle for the seat.
Boundaries: This riding runs along the Annapolis Valley and Nova Scotia’s Bay of Fundy, from Berwick to the province’s southern tip.
Last Election: Conservative incumbent Greg Kerr defeated former Liberal MP Robert Thibault, whom he defeated in 2008, once again in 2011, this time by 10.6 per cent.
History: West Nova has elected both PC/Conservative and Liberal members since 1968, switching affiliations eight times in the last 12 elections. The NDP have never finished higher than third.
Demographics: 20.2 per cent of West Nova residents were seniors in 2011, the highest number in Atlantic Canada.
