Federal Election 2015: Selkirk-Interlake-Eastman riding results

Summary: A riding located between Manitoba’s two most prominent lakes, Conservative MP James Bezan looks for his fifth term in this electoral district.

Boundaries: All of the Interlake region up to Little Saskatchewan and Lake St. Martin.

Last Election: Conservative MP James Bezan defeated NDP candidate Sean Palsson by 38.7 per cent, his largest margin of victory in four elections.

History: The Interlake region has elected candidates from the Canadian Alliance and Conservative Party since 1997, but prior to that had elected Liberals, NDP and Progressive Conservative candidates.

Demographics: The median age is 45.4, the highest in Manitoba. 17.5 per cent of people are Aboriginal, the fifth highest number in the province.
