Fight in downtown Montreal leaves one man stabbed

MONTREAL – One man has been stabbed after a fight broke out between four people.

It happened around 3 a.m. on de Maisonneuve Boulevard near Guy Street.

“A confrontation between three people against one degenerated,” said Jean-Pierre Brabant with Montreal police.

“The man was stabbed in his lower body.”

The 35 to 40 year-old victim was transported to hospital.

“He is in critical condition, but we don’t fear for his life,” said Brabant.

“We are still waiting for an update from the hospital.”

There have been no arrests and investigators are talking to witnesses on the scene.
