CALGARY – Family and friends are mourning the loss of a 19-year-old woman who drowned in Quarry Lake near Canmore on Sunday.
The victim had been swimming with a church group from the Calgary-area when she was reported missing around 12:30 p.m.

Emergency crews later found the woman unresponsive in the water.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate her; she was then rushed to hospital in Canmore before being airlifted to the Foothills Medical Centre in Calgary.
The victim eventually succumbed to her injuries around 5 p.m.
RCMP say it’s believed she wasn’t an experienced swimmer, and wasn’t wearing a life jacket.
RCMP have not released the identity of the victim.
