Fire crews in West Vancouver are attending to a brush fire near the Lions Gate Bridge.
Seven firefighters are on scene. It’s now contained, but they’ll will be there for several hours putting out hotspots.
Originally fire fighters brought in portables to pump in additional sea water, but there was too much debris in the water to use them, so they’re now laying lines from hydrants instead.
Investigators say four kids were seen in the area when the fire began.
The area is extremely dry – crews say the blaze tripled in size within just a few minutes before they could contain it.
The fire broke out soon after the City of Vancouver announced that a private fireworks show was happening near Third Beach in Stanley Park tonight.
