Police are releasing more details about a pair of hikers last seen Monday. RCMP say Lynne Carmody and Rick Moyan are both from Ontario and are experienced hikers.
“So that helps us because my understanding is it’s some really tough terrain up in that area,” says Cpl. Dave Tyreman.
Tyreman says Monday when the pair left for a hike they said they would be back by suppertime. When they didn’t return, the immediate area was searched. When that also turned up no sign of the pair, their disappearance was reported to police who called in search and rescue.

“It is just kind of like they vanished,” he adds.
Tyreman says for a third day an RCMP helicopter is in the air looking for any sign of Carmody and Moyan. He says search and rescue crews are also continuing their efforts.
“We are crossing our fingers that there is no other priority where we have to draw the helicopter away from the search,” he says. “We are hoping these people get spotted from the air.”
