WATCH: Fire crews had to reinforce a garage in the community of Lake Bonavista Thursday morning after a car crashed into a house. David Boushy reports.
CALGARY – Firefighters had to free a driver from his vehicle after he lost control and crashed through the garage of a Lake Bonavista home on Thursday.
It happened in the 700 block of Lake Lucerne Drive S.E. around 8:40 a.m.
The vehicle drove through the home’s attached garage and into a tree in the backyard of the residence
Firefighters were able to free the driver from the car. He was taken to hospital in non-life-threatening condition.
No one was at home at the time.
Firefighters were able to shore up the garage to ensure it was stable until permanent repairs can be made.
Police are investigating the cause of the collision, and if the driver may have suffered a medical incident.
