Winnipeg terrorism suspect released; must follow 25 conditions

WINNIPEG – A Winnipeg man arrested on the suspicion he may carry out terrorist activities has been granted bail.

Aaron Daniel Driver, 23, is not facing any criminal charges but the RCMP is seeking a peace bond which would restrict his activities.

The court has yet to rule on the peace bond, but in the meantime Driver was released Friday with a long list of conditions. He also posted a $5,000 surety along with $1,500 posted by a woman who lives in the same Charleswood house as Driver.

Officers from the RCMP’s national security section raided the home and arrested Driver June 4th. The Crown asserted Driver may engage in terrorism or help a terrorist group.
