Daughter of ‘Queen of Versailles’ stars dies at 18

TORONTO – The 18-year-old daughter of the stars of the documentary The Queen of Versailles died Saturday.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office responded to the family’s home in Windermere, near Orlando, and found Victoria Siegel unresponsive.

She was pronounced dead at Health Central Hospital in nearby Ocoee, according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released additional details and a spokesperson said only that the medical examiner is investigating the cause of death.

TMZ reported Monday afternoon that Victoria had recently returned from receiving treatment for an addiction to Xanax.

Victoria was the second-oldest of eight children of David and Jackie Siegel, who were featured in Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 documentary The Queen of Versailles. It followed the family as it set out to build one of the most expensive single family homes in the U.S., modeled after the Palace of Versailles, until it was hit by the recession.

The mansion is expected to be complete next year.

A message on Jackie Siegel’s Facebook page reads: “It is with great sadness that we ask you to respect our privacy during this tragic time and the loss of our beloved daughter, Victoria. Thank you all for your prayers and for your support. As more information comes out the family will share it, until that time there is no comment.”

David Siegel, 80, is the founder of Westgate Resorts, which boasts more than two dozen resorts across the U.S. as well as the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. He has four other children from two previous marriages.

Jackie, 49, is a former Mrs. Florida America.

The couple appeared on an episode of Wife Swap that aired last week.
