Website features restaurants, festivals, best dishes in Alabama

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Alabama’s tourism agency will officially kick off its new “The Year of Alabama Food” by the end of this month when it unveils a new website and gives people a chance to download the new updated version of “100 Dishes to Eat Before You Die.”

The updated version of “100 Dishes to Eat Before You Die” will be available for download in the new website http://www.yearofalabamafood.com . The website and a new 30-second television commercial will be unveiled Jan. 27 at an event in Birmingham for food writers.

State tourism director Lee Sentell said the website will allow people to search for the best food, from produce to snacks to fine dining, in cities small and large across Alabama.

The website will also feature 300 plus food events scheduled this year.
