TORONTO — Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer is heading to Vancouver to play God in The Shack.

The movie is an adaptation of William P. Young’s 2007 novel of the same name. It’s about a man who receives a note, apparently from God, inviting him to the abandoned shack where his daughter was presumably murdered four years earlier.
