WATCH: Norwegian family digs 20-metre long snow tunnel to access cabin

The Thorbjørnsen family have always enjoyed building snowmen and snow caves at their winter cabin in Sandfiellet, Norway over the years.

Although the cabin has been in the family for 30 years, this year was the first time they had to tunnel through piled-up snow to get inside.

The snow was piled so high it obstructed access to the cabin. Photos from the family show that they had to climb over the pile at first.

That’s when the family decided to create a more permanent solution: a 20-metre long tunnel through the packed snow.

It took over two days to dig a tunnel that was large enough for people to sled through.

The Thorbjørnsens say that if it snows as much in the coming winters, the snow tunnel will become a family tradition.
