Actor Emile Hirsch accused of assaulting studio exec

TORONTO — Police are investigating allegations that actor Emile Hirsch assaulted a woman at a party during the Sundance Film Festival.

According to the New York Post, the 29-year-old Into the Wild star “aggressively attacked” Paramount Digital Entertainment executive Dani Bernfeld, 31, inside Tao Nightclub in Park City, Utah early Sunday morning.

The Post quoted sources who claimed Hirsch pushed Bernfeld up against a table and put her in a chokehold.

Police were called and Hirsch was questioned but not arrested.

Park City Police have said they are considering whether charges will be filed.

Reps for Hirsch have not responded to media requests for comment.

The star was at Sundance to promote his new movie Ten Thousand Saints.
