Woman charged with manslaughter in Wollaston Lake, Sask. death

WOLLASTON LAKE, Sask. – A woman is in custody after a suspicious death investigation in northern Saskatchewan. Adrienne Leona Linklater, 24, is facing a manslaughter charge in the death of Jonathon St. Pierre.

St. Pierre died on Jan. 18 a short time after he was brought to the health centre in Wollaston Lake. Mounties deemed the death suspicious and an autopsy Wednesday in Saskatoon confirmed his death was a homicide.

The cause of death has not been released.

Linklater, who is from the Hatchet Lake First Nation, was arrested on Thursday. She is scheduled to appear in La Ronge provincial court on Jan. 26.

Wollaston Lake is approximately 700 kilometres northeast of Saskatoon.
