‘How to kill your teacher’ video traced to Castlegar area

WATCH: School officials in the Kootneys are responding tonight to a disturbing video linked to two Castlegar students. Catherine Urquhart reports.

The Kootenay-Columbia School District and local RCMP in Castlegar are investigating after a disturbing video made by two school children was traced back to the Castlegar area.

“I watched the video myself for the first time this afternoon and it is disturbing and highly inappropriate,” said Kootenay-Columbia school superintendent Greg Luterbach in an email.

“We are working with local RCMP to help their investigation into the matter…[and] are undertaking our own violence threat risk assessment into the matter.”

RCMP will not be laying charges, but are in touch with the two children and their families.

The six-minute video, which was posted to YouTube on January 12 and has since been deleted, shows two boys around the age of 10 or 11 holding toy guns and discussing how to kill a teacher referred to as Ms. D.
