TORONTO — Canadian singer Avril Lavigne, who revealed late last year she is dealing with health issues, is getting ready to release a new song.
The 30-year-old pop star tweeted that proceeds from the single “Fly” will benefit the Special Olympics.
“I’m excited to share it soon,” Lavigne tweeted last week.
She also alluded to her unspecified health problem. “Right now I’m using my own (new) song lyrics to help me get through this……”

The Ontario-born singer has yet to publicly address the nature of the illness she mentioned in a direct message to a fan in early December.
“I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers,” she wrote at the time.
A rep for Lavigne has denied speculation the singer is pregnant.
Lavigne hasn’t been photographed in public since the end of the September.
