EDMONTON – Downtown Fort Saskatchewan has been shutdown for a second time Tuesday as police investigate an incident that appears to be centred around a restaurant.
All roads to downtown were originally blocked off early in the morning, before being re-opened at around 9:30 a.m. However, police shut down the area again late in the morning. The windows of a Vietnamese restaurant were smashed and a vehicle out front was damaged when the media was allowed near the scene. Around 2:45 p.m., coroners removed a body from the VN Express Vietnamese and Chinese Restaurant.
Tuesday morning, sources confirmed this investigation is linked to multiple homicides being investigated by Edmonton police.

An employee of a nearby restaurant said she witnessed a dramatic scene when she arrived at work.
“We heard them yelling at somebody inside ‘why don’t you just put your hands up and come out and talk to us.'”
The Edmonton Police Service has taken over the investigation.
