KELOWNA – Simon Ng arrived at Craftsman Collision in Kelowna on Monday with no idea that he was about to get the surprise of a lifetime. Organizers of the Freedom Road Project selected Ng over dozens of others to receive a limited edition 2010 Ford Explorer.
“It’s on behalf of Craftsman Collision, RSA Insurance and BCAA,” says Tom Watters with Craftsman Collision.

Ng is a single father of three and his eldest daughter who is 11-years-old, has lost a leg to cancer and is being treated at BC Children’s hospital in Vancouver. Ng has been driving to the lower mainland bi-weekly to visit his daughter.
“We are just thrilled that Simon has got a vehicle that he can drive back and forth to children’s hospital in Vancouver safely in,” says Watters.
Ng was also given $1000 towards the purchase of his vehicle’s insurance as well as a $100 Petro Canada gas gift card. On top of that, the SUV was filled with gifts for Ng’s daughters.
Ng is a keynote speaker and founder of a teen mentoring organization called Simon Says. A Go Fund Me site has been set up to help support the family.
