Victim in fatal crash on Highway 97 near Duck Lake identified

KELOWNA – The identity of a woman who died after a fatal collision near Kelowna on Saturday has been confirmed by the BC Coroners Service to be 48-year-old Frances Marie Strocher of Kelowna.

Regional Coroner for the Interior Region Larry Marzinzik says Strocher was the driver of the car that was heading southbound on Highway 97 before colliding head-on with a semi-tractor-trailer unit. Strocher died on the scene.

Marzinzik says the victim’s family has been notified. There were no other passengers in the vehicle. The accident happened around 1 p.m. near Duck Lake.
