September death of baby investigated by Edmonton homicide detectives

EDMONTON – Edmonton police revealed Thursday they are investigating the September death of Carter Auger who died 21 days after his first birthday.

On Sept. 25, someone called 911 asking for medical help for the infant at a home near 88 Street and 148 Avenue. When crews arrived, they found the one-year-old dead.

The medical examiner contacted EPS Homicide Section after conducting an autopsy, which determined the baby died from blunt force trauma to the head. At that time, a suspicious death investigation was launched. It continues at this time.

Police say this is Edmonton’s 20th homicide of the year.
