Downtown Kelowna attack sends one to hospital

KELOWNA — RCMP are seeking the public’s help in identifying two men who assaulted another man in downtown Kelowna.

The attack happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday on Leon Avenue near Ellis Street where two men jumped out of a pick-up truck and attacked a 47 year-old man.

Police say the victim suffered serious injuries and had to be rushed to hospital for treatment.

The suspects were driving a smaller grey pickup truck — possibly with Alberta plates.

They’re described as being about six-feet tall with short hair.

Police say the motive for the attack is not known.

The victim is known to police.
