Winnipeg police arrest brothers for poppy donation box thefts

WINNIPEG – Police have arrest two men in connection with the thefts of seven poppy donation boxes in early November.

Brothers Anthony Victor Joseph Prince, 22, and Michael Andrew Eugene Prince, 25, are each charged with seven counts of theft under $5,000. The younger brother is also charged with seven counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The thefts took places at the following times and locations:

  • Nov. 3 – 2200 block of McPhillips Street
  • Nov. 4 – 1500 block of St. Mary’s Road
  • Nov. 4 – 1200 block of St. Mary’s Road
  • Nov. 5 – 1500 block of Regent Avenue
  • Nov. 5 – 900 block of Nairn Avenue
  • Nov. 5 – 1600 block of Logan Avenue
  • Nov. 5 – 900 block of Nairn Avenue
