Survey: Increasing number of Southern Albertans satisfied with healthcare services

A recent survey from the Health Quality Council of Alberta determined that Albertan’s overall healthcare satisfaction is on the rise.

The survey shows that 66% of respondents in Alberta were happy with their healthcare experience, a number that has been growing at a percentile a year over the past eight years.

In looking at the individual zones, the survey shows that those in the South Zone are most satisfied with their healthcare (71%), a whole five percent above the provincial average. Meanwhile, only 58% of the North Zone respondents were satisfied with their healthcare services.

Perhaps more important is how people rated their quality of health care. That category is defined as the quality of care they’ve received from their family doctors, walk in clinic doctors, the emergency department or whether or not the respondent had a serious complaint. South Zone again had the highest amount of people who said they’re quality of care was ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ at 79%.
