Last day for Canada Post’s guarantee for standard Christmas parcel delivery

TORONTO – Christmas is just two weeks away and today is the last day to send regular parcels by Canada Post to be guaranteed they will arrive at their final destinations within Canada by the 25th.

For those sending holiday cards or packages by Canada Post through the pricier Xpresspost within Canada or the U.S., you still have until Dec. 22. If you plan on waiting until the last minute you can go with Priority Post, the most expensive option, and have until Dec. 23.

Canada Post is also offering tips for parents to ensure their child’s letter makes it to Santa’s postal elves.

Santa Claus can respond to letters in more than 30 languages, but just like anyone he needs a full return address to send his response.

While wish lists are helpful, Santa also wants to hear about a child’s favourite sport as well as jokes and stories of school activities or family fun. He loves to get drawings and pictures.

All letters to Santa must be sent by Dec. 16 in order to get a reply, as it’s a long way to the North Pole.
