EDMONTON – The forecast is trending up in Edmonton after the city was blasted with a major winter storm last week that caused as much as 40 centimetres of accumulation and temperatures dropping in the -30°C range with the windchill.
Despite a 20 per cent chance of flurries for Edmonton Thursday evening, highs are expected to be -5°C Thursday to Saturday, and warming up even more for next week. Global Edmonton weather specialist Mike Sobel is calling for the temperature to rise to 5°C by Tuesday and Wednesday.
The weekend is looking mild as well, with temperatures hovering around -5°C to -1°C. There is a 30 per cent of flurries for Saturday, according to Sobel.
The average high in Edmonton for this time of the year is -5°C.
