EDMONTON — It appears as though Edmonton mayor Don Iveson will be trucking 100 pounds of food down the QEII. It has to do with a bet he made with Calgary’s mayor, Naheed Nenshi.
Prior to Sunday’s CFL West final between the Edmonton Eskimos and Calgary Stampeders, the pair made a wager on the game.
If the Eskimos were victorious in Sunday’s game, Nenshi would have to donate 100 pounds of food to Edmonton’s food bank. If the Stamps won, Iveson would do the same for Calgary’s food bank.
The wager sparked some friendly competition on Twitter, with others upping the ante.
In the end, the Stamps came out on top with a 43-18 win. So, Iveson will be donating 100 pounds to Calgary’s food bank.
