MONTREAL — If you knew you would never get caught, would you do it?
Pollsters from Leger Marketing asked Quebecers whether they would ever cheat on their spouses — and the results may surprise you.
Of the 1,000 people questioned, 18 per cent admitted to having an extramarital affair, which amounts to nearly 1.5 million Quebecers.
When asked whether they would ever cheat on a spouse if it was guaranteed they would never be caught, 11 per cent more said that they would have an affair.
Jean-Marc Léger told TVA Nouvelles that he thought it was possible that respondents were more open about their behaviour because it was an internet poll.
What type of Quebecer is more likely to have a cheating heart? According to the poll, a wealthy, university-educated Montreal man between 35 and 44 years of age.
The most faithful? A woman who lives in the East of Quebec.
