HALIFAX – A woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries and a man is in serious condition after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 103 westbound near Timberlea.
RCMP say at approximately 6:00 p.m. Friday the two people were ejected from their car which ended up in the woods off the road. Police say the man was driving an older model Corvette.
Both in their mid- to early-fifties, the female passenger was air lifted to hospital in a LifeFlight helicopter and the male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.
RCMP say the two were known to each other. The man is from Halifax and the woman is from Prince Edward Island.
An accident reconstruction team was called to the scene to investigate. Police say the outbound lanes of Highway 103 will remain closed between the exits for St. Margarets Bay Road and Tantallon until at least midnight.
