Alberta worker killed being pinned between machinery south of Calgary

MILLARVILLE, Alta. – A 46-year-old man was killed when he became entangled in the machinery he was operating southwest of Calgary.

Mounties say the man was operating a small backhoe attached to a Bobcat excavator when the machine started to slide into the trench he was digging west of Millarville, near Highway 762.

The man was pinned between the backhoe and the Bobcat.

Turner Valley RCMP, MD of Foothills Fire Dept, EMS and Occupational Safety and Health all attended the scene.

The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
