Two teens killed in collision west of Valleyview, Alberta

CALGARY – RCMP believe alcohol may have been a factor in a fatal crash near Valleyview, Alberta Monday night.

Two people were killed when they turned their Pontiac Sunfire in front of a semi-truck on Highway 43 west of the town at the Goose Creek bridge.

The driver and two others in the vehicle were taken to hospital. All occupants were between the ages of 14 and 19 years old.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

The names of the victims have not yet been released but police say all occupants were from the Valleyview or Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.

Traffic on Highway 42 was rerouted for approximately seven hours while emergency crews investigated.
