Three charged in classic car theft near Yorkton, Sask.

YORKTON, Sask. – Three people have been charged after two classic cars were stolen from a Quonset near Yorkton, Sask. earlier this month.

The theft of the 1969 Firebird and 1976 Dodge Dart happened between Sept. 9 and 16 in the RM of Cana.

Mounties say a camera caught the suspects taking pictures of the cars before returning a few days later to take away the cars on a flat-deck trailer.

The Firebird was recovered on Sept. 19 in Yorkton and the following day, the Dart was found at an abandoned farm near Grenfell.

Darwin Blaze Mogenson, 23, from Watrous is facing charges that include break, enter and theft over $5,000 and proceeds of crime. He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Wednesday.

Jessica Ann Kopan, 20, from Yorkton is charged with break, enter and theft over $5,000. She will appear in Yorkton provincial court on Oct. 29.

A third suspect, Blain Gilbert Gaudet, 30, from Melville remains at large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

He is facing several charges including break, enter and theft over $5,000 and breach of probation.
