MONTREAL- The 9th edition of the Montreal Comiccon wrapped up Sunday at the Palais des Congres.
Attendance was estimated at more than 50 thousand visitors. “Just when you think it can’t get bigger and better it does,” Comiccon spokesperson Jason Rockman told Global News. ”
What i’m really happy about is the ratio of men and women. Its almost half and half. It’s amazing.” Rockman added.
Cosplayers, gamers, and pop-culture stars from Star Trek: The Next Generation, The Walking Dead, Nightmare on Elm Street, WWE wrestlers and an impressive list of artists took part.
It was a first time as a featured artist at Comiccon for Montreal Gazette political cartoonist Aislin.
“I’m having wonderful conversations with people who are familiar with the cartoons and who grew up with the cartoons,” he told Global News.
Next years event will take place earlier in the summer. The 10th annual Montreal Comiccon will be held July 3,4,5 at the Palais des Congres.
