Charity looks to turn drab hospital gowns into works of art

CALGARY- A unique project is transforming drab, dreary pieces of clothing into fantastic pieces of art.

A charity called ‘Art a la Carte’ brings art to the bedsides of terminally ill hospital patients, and is now looking to turn hospital gowns into masterpieces.

They’re recruiting local artists, including some who have very personal reasons for taking part.

“[Gowns are] a badge of something very wrong,” says Doug Driediger, who is a cancer survivor. “To wear that gown means I’m not fit to be in the public…not medically fit.
