James Corden named new host of ‘The Late Late Show’

NEW YORK – CBS is turning to British actor James Corden to be the host of the late-night talk show that Craig Ferguson is leaving at the end of the year.

The network announced Monday that Corden will take over The Late Late Show sometime next year. CBS didn’t say where the show will be based or when exactly it will start.

Corden is a Tony Award-winning actor for his role in the play One Man, Two Guvnors. He’s featured in the movie Begin Again with Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo.

Ferguson announced he is leaving at the end of this year. Next year CBS will have an all-new late-night lineup with Stephen Colbert replacing the retiring David Letterman.
