Construction to cause traffic trouble on Kenaston Boulevard

The city is warning motorists of traffic trouble in south Winnipeg later this week.

Construction work on a railway crossing along Kenaston Boulevard – part of the preparations for the new IKEA store that will begin construction later this month – could cause major delays in the high-traffic area starting Thursday morning at 6 am.

The city says Kenaston Boulevard will be limited to single lane traffic in the north and southbound directions at the CN Railway crossing located between the Kenaston Boulevard/Sterling Lyon Parkway intersection and the Kenaston Boulevard/Rothwell Road intersection.

The lanes will be closed for a 24-36 hour period.

The city is suggesting alternate routes down Waverley Street and Pembina Highway to get around the lane closing.
