Preston Avenue South at Circle Drive will be detoured for approximately one year starting in mid-September for a new traffic interchange in Saskatoon.
Final detour details are being confirmed, but generally:
- Northbound and southbound Preston Avenue traffic will be accommodated with two signalized intersections at Circle Drive.
- In that general area, eastbound and westbound Circle Drive traffic will be in two lanes each, sharing the roadway for a short distance. Westbound traffic will cross over to the detour road between Highway 11 and Clarence Avenue.
- The speed limit will be 60 km in the construction area.

The Circle Drive South Project is Saskatoon’s most massive infrastructure project, involving a new south bridge, five interchanges, three railway grade separations, and 10 km of freeway.
The project is expected to be completed by September 30, 2012.
Preston Crossing interchange will also be restricted for the following two months.
The city would like to remind motorists to allow extra time when travelling through construction areas, watch for work crews, and obey all detours, signs, and barriers.
