The Edmonton Police Service Community Action Team will specifically target crime this week in and around motels, bars, businesses, industrial areas, and residential neighbourhoods.

Police will also increase traffic enforcement, and volunteers will work to educate residents about crime in the area.

Social agencies will help connect vulnerable people with services they may require.

The police deployment is being conducted in partnership with numerous agencies including the city of Edmonton.

The monthly CAT deployments are part of the Violence Reduction Strategy.
