TORONTO – Few of us are lucky enough to see the Milky Way in all its glory. But one photographer has brought the stars to us.

Gavin Heffernan shot a stunning timelapse of the rich expanse of stars as viewed from the Grand Canyon National Park and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.
Even on an overcase night, the sky puts on a magnificent display: Stars peek in and out of the clouds until the rich bulge of our galaxy stretches across the sky.
Heffernan is an independent filmmaker who has been creating stunning timelapses of the night sky.
