TORONTO — Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong’o was revealed as People‘s Most Beautiful Woman on Wednesday.
The 31-year-old star of 12 Years a Slave and Non-Stop told the magazine she is thrilled with the honour.
Nyong’o, who was born in Mexico, said her mother Dorothy always told her she was beautiful.
“And I finally believed her at some point,” she said.
Nyong’o was recently named the face of Lancome Paris.
Other stars on People‘s annual list of the 50 Most Beautiful include Julia Roberts, Jennifer Campbell, Julianna Margulies, Keri Russell, Jenna Dewan-Tatum, Mindy Kaling, Pink, Amber Heard, Gabrielle Union, Molly Sims, Stacy Keibler and Kerry Washington.
Last year, the magazine awarded the Most Beautiful Woman title to Gwyneth Paltrow.
The special issue of People hits newsstands on Friday.
