Impaired driving charge laid after Saskatoon crashes

SASKATOON – A Yorkton, Sask. man has been charged with impaired driving after two crashes in Saskatoon on Sunday evening.

The first crash happened around 8:30 p.m. after a white Chevrolet Lumina hit a parked vehicle in the 600-block of Hampton Circle. The driver then fled the scene.

Around 30 minutes later, police were called to the 300-block of Hampton Circle after the same car left the road and crashed into some trees and bushes in a park.

The driver was not injured and was taken into custody.

Along with the impaired driving charge, the 33-year-old man is also charged with being the registered owner of a vehicle involved in a hit and run.

He is scheduled to appear in court in March.
